During the weekend of May 20, the Management Team gathered in Indianapolis at the Heritage Center for their annual meeting in conjunction with the Judiciary Committee’s meeting.
The Management Team (MT) and Judiciary Committee (JC) learned the basics of servant leadership and how to integrate different management styles into the success of AKPsi. The fraternity volunteers of the MT discussed the organization’s strategic plan and how to continue improving the membership experiences of their chapters through breakouts and brainstorming sessions. Though some of the team were unable to attend, their proxies were welcomed with open arms into the many discussions throughout the weekend.
This year, the Judiciary Committee met as a team to discuss risk management trends and the best application of rehabilitation terms for at-risk chapters. Through a new Judiciary Committee Operations Manual, chapters will have instant access to resources on chapter-level disciplinary hearings and judiciary review boards. As the fraternity focuses on the servant leadership model, the Judiciary Committee is in a unique position to support the concept of empowering student leaders by mentoring members in conflict resolution and risk reduction.
The role of the Judiciary Committee is to maintain resources and tools for chapters and volunteers to assist with the education of risk management issues. The JC also investigates the actions of chapters, members and guests that may have violated policies or be considered detrimental to the fraternity. The Management Team is a group of volunteers responsible for managing the operations of the fraternity and oversees other volunteer positions.
