Over the course of a recruiting season, an employer may have close to five hundred conversations with prospective students at a given school. For those that work specifically in recruiting and attend multiple events, this number grows to a couple thousand. Every student has the same question — given the same opportunity as anyone else to chat with an employer, how do I stand out?
Thanks to Green Summit Partners at the Greenleaf Center for Servant Leadership, we are happy to announce scholarship opportunities for Alpha Kappa Psi undergrads to attend a leadership conference in November.
“You are always wearing your letters” is something all members should take to heart. It’s not saying members are always wearing a t-shirt or hat with “AKPsi” displayed. This phrase references how Alpha Kappa Psi is represented through any actions said or done. Anything and everything (both the good and the bad) represents a chapter, other members, and the fraternity as a whole; especially during the summer.
Colonizing in November and installing as a chapter in April is no small task, but with passionate leadership from Awais Qazi, the Chi Zeta Chapter at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) did just that. Awais led the colony as president from their beginning and saw them through to installation. Awais graduated from NJIT on May 16 with a B.S. in Business and was selected as the gonfalon carrier for the Martin Tuchman School of Management (see image below) for commencement. Now an alumnus, he is excited to see how the chapter will grow and how he can give back to Alpha Kappa Psi.
