INDIANAPOLIS (January 5, 2016) — Brothers from the Psi Nu Chapter at Baruch College continued developing their real world business experiences by visiting Google’s Chelsea location, Tumblr and Spotify all within the fall 2015 semester.

The chapter wanted to gain a better understanding of each company’s culture and learn more about the general operations. During each of the visits, the chapter was able to get a behind the scenes look, learning about the inner workings from the passionate people who work there.
Google, Tumblr and Spotify’s offices all pride themselves on their company culture based on a relaxed and open work environment that stimulates productivity. The reduction of physical walls and the addition of “de-stressing” rooms allow for each company to create an atmosphere conducive to happier employees, who are excited to come to work and create new projects.
The three offices contain collaborative work spaces, shared eating areas, and a simple but fun look. They all bring in aspects from their respective companies into the work environment. Spotify contains a stage for bands to perform in the workspace, Tumblr has graffiti and artwork throughout the office created by Tumblr users, and Google provides their employees an abundance of interactive activities and even an around-the-clock IT bar.
Though each of these companies create different tools for consumers to use, their cultures are quite similar; to create a happy, collaborative, and productive workplace. Throughout the semester, the Psi Nu chapter enjoyed all of their excursions and after each visit, “left with a stronger sense of community”.
