INDIANAPOLIS (June 11, 2018) — The Alpha Kappa Psi Board of Directors recently appointed Erik Thomas as regional director of the Eastern Great Plains Region. The appointment will take effect July 1.

Erik Thomas was initiated into Alpha Kappa Psi through the Zeta Tau Chapter at Western Kentucky University (Bowling Green, KY), in 2007. While a student member, he served on the executive board as vice president of membership and president. He also volunteered on various committees allowing him insight into fraternity volunteering. After graduating, he served as chapter advisor and section director for both the Southern Bluegrass Region and Alumni Region. During this time he became a founding member of the Bluegrass Alumni chapter. While volunteering, he received his first degree Silver DSA from the Zeta Tau Chapter. He currently works as a collections specialist at Big Ass Fans where every day provides new insights into the world of business.

The Regional Director is charged with working closely with the chapter educational resource coordinator, regional volunteers, and the vice president to ensure a quality student experience. Through the support of effective chapter operations and the learning and development initiatives of the fraternity, the regional director has a lasting impact on the professional and personal growth of Alpha Kappa Psi students and volunteers.
