INDIANAPOLIS (January 19, 2016) — Alpha Kappa Psi Fraternity announced today that Jess LaNore, CAE, Purdue ’00-Honorary/Life is leaving his position as managing director of alumni services to pursue other opportunities. The 18-year veteran of the fraternity’s professional staff will step down from full-time responsibilities on March 31, but as part of a transition process he’ll maintain limited duties through the end of September.
“Jess is in a league of his own,” says CEO Steven Hartman. “He is a trusted staff member who brings strong leadership, incredible intellect and a tremendous work ethic that is beyond compare. Working with Jess has been a pleasure and privilege; his expertise, sound judgment, compassionate leadership and good humor have been invaluable to me. The board and I are deeply grateful for all he has done for Alpha Kappa Psi.”
As managing director of alumni services, LaNore is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Alpha Kappa Psi’s educational foundation and for serving as editor of its magazine, The Diary of Alpha Kappa Psi. During his tenure, annual donors to the foundation increased three-fold and the Diary became the first magazine of any professional fraternity to be recognized as “Magazine of the Year” by the Fraternity Communications Association. LaNore’s other responsibilities include oversight of Alpha Kappa Psi’s trademark, merchandise and licensing programs. He is also Alpha Kappa Psi’s archivist and unofficial historian.
LaNore earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1995 from Washington State University and has been a Certified Association Executive (CAE) since 2009. He is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and Society of Indiana Archivists, and is a past president of the Fraternity Communications Association.
