NORFOLK, VIRGINIA – Alpha Kappa Psi, the largest international professional business fraternity, recently appointed Lisa A. Calandriello, American ’97-Life, as the Area III Vice President, effective immediately.
Calandriello, who succeeds Michael G. Dickerson, Virginia Tech ’04-Life after being elected as executive vice president, was initiated by the Lambda Nu Chapter at American University in 1997, where she graduated with a B.S. in Accountancy. As an undergraduate, she served her chapter as treasurer for two terms. Post-graduation as an alumna volunteer, Calandriello served Alpha Kappa Psi as chapter advisor, Foundation Director, and as chair of the Fraternity and Foundation Audit Committee. A Silver Distinguished Service Award recipient, Calandriello was also named an Outstanding Volunteer Leader as the 2013-14 Chapter Advisor of the Year. Calandriello is a certified public accountant working in auditing standard setting and a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance at the 500-hour level. When she’s not volunteering or teaching yoga, Calandriello can be found at Washington Nationals baseball games, exploring creative activities, or spending time with friends and family.
In a statement, Calandriello expressed her enthusiasm for this new volunteer opportunity, “After serving in a variety of volunteer roles, I am excited to be joining the Management Team and working with this talented group of volunteers to help implement the Board’s strategic vision. I am thrilled to have this opportunity to continue to give back to the fraternity and help shape the experiences of our student members.”
The area vice presidents are tasked with the administrative oversight of specific regions and regional directors. They also partner with the fraternity staff in executing the tactical direction of fraternity operations based on strategic guidance from the Board of Directors.
