The eight co-captains for this year’s All-AKPsi Academic Team have been decided. From the 124 juniors and seniors named to the 2016-17 roster, these eight co-captains have been selected to represent the team and will each receive $250 educational grants from the Alpha Kappa Psi Foundation:
2016-17 All-AKPsi Academic Team Co-Captains:
Lauren Alexander, Missouri 14
Alpha Kappa Psi has surrounded me with people who are driven and goal-oriented, with some of us having the same academic goals. Because of my brothers, I have been pushed to study harder and better than I ever have, allowing me to maintain my GPA and receive admittance into the 150 Hour Accountancy program.
Cosmin Dordea, Wayne State ’16
AKPsi has allowed me to achieve my goals by surrounding me with like-minded business individuals. The Brothers of the Beta Omicron Chapter are extremely hard-working and intelligent. […] Surrounding myself with these individuals has lit an enormous fire within myself to work just as hard in order to reach my full potential.
Natalie Gaynier, Toledo ’14
While it may not be a skill listed on a resume or something to be validated by “connections” on LinkedIn, the transformation I have witnessed within myself, from pledge to soon-to-be alumni, is one of the most valuable things I have. I am more prepared now then I ever will be to accomplish my goals because of all that I have learned as a brother of Alpha Kappa Psi.
Himabindu Katrapati, Toledo ’15
During my time as a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, I have been able to become more understanding towards people’s perceptions and value everyone’s opinions. In the professional world, it is very important to value everyone’s opinions and respect your peers in your environment.
Klara Klarowicz, Queen Mary ’15
It is amazing to know that there are people, who are just not your friends, but brothers for life. Being part of AKPSi made me more confident person and will help me to become a successful businesswoman, whose decisions can make a difference and shape the business world.
Ronak Parikh, Rutgers ’15
I have learned how to carry myself well but at the same time enjoy the presence of others, and taking value from them to add into my own life. I feel as though everyday I am able to learn something new or am motivated even more. If I had not joined AKPsi, I would not have had this.
Zackary Seibert, Rutgers ’15I consider myself as someone who has a good balance of both social and professional skills. Many people view me as a well-rounded and optimistic person, and I credit Alpha Kappa Psi and my involvement on campus for this trait.
Each year, the All-AKPsi Academic Team honors individuals who balance academics with leadership in their chapters and communities. To apply, students need to be juniors or seniors and have GPAs of 3.50 or higher.
