Women in Business: Dayna Thomas has gained more than 170 registrants.
Dayna Thomas, Esq. is an Atlanta-based entertainment and entrepreneurship attorney and author with a passion for helping people build their lives, careers, and businesses with the support of the law. She focuses her practice on assisting entrepreneurs and entertainers in reaching their goals, protecting their businesses, and building strong personal and professional brands. Thomas handles everything from business entity formation, operating agreements and bylaws, investor relations and funding, contract drafting and negotiation, trademark and brand protection, product licensing, pre-litigation business disputes, and more.
“I chose entertainment law because when I was a little girl, I was the actual entertainer,” said Thomas. “I was a professional dancer (tap, jazz, ballet), I sang in the church choir, participated in school plays, and even auditioned for the role of Nala in The Lion King on Broadway. I loved it when I was younger, but as I got older, I started to learn more about business and law and I really liked law as a career. I did not want to abandon my budding entertainment career, so I married both entertainment and law and pursued entertainment law.”
In addition to her profession as a lawyer, Thomas is the author of “Entrepreneur’s Guide To Building A Solid Legal Foundation,” in which she exposes entrepreneurs to the fundamentals of business law to help prepare their business for wild success. She dives deeper into her new book, professional journey and Alpha Kappa Psi’s role in her development within the alumni features section of the upcoming Diary issue.
