INDIANAPOLIS (July 12, 2016) – During the 2015-16 year, Alpha Kappa Psi recognized 80 new Life Loyal members. Membership in Alpha Kappa Psi may begin in college, but it certainly doesn’t end there. After all, membership as a student only lasts for a few years. Membership as an alum, lasts for the rest of life.
At 87 years old, the Life Loyal Program is the oldest active program in fraternity history. Having a Life Loyal Membership is a prestigious designation within the fraternity that lasts a lifetime. “We are so happy and excited to see our brothers stand behind our principles and truly stand out as members of a very distinct group of brothers in our organization,” said Jeffery D. Hughes, South Florida ’00-Life, Director of Technology and Alumni Development. “[We] are looking forward to seeing many more ‘be life strong’ during this new fiscal year.”
Life Loyal members are a part of an exclusive level of membership within Alpha Kappa Psi. They join the company of founding members such as George L. Bergen, Nathan Lane Jr., Frederic R. Leach and Robert S. Douglas.
Alpha Kappa Psi maintains itself as an organization of a lifelong brotherhood. Life Membership is designed to allow members to demonstrate their dedication and loyalty to the fraternity while becoming a part of its legacy. Members benefit from a lifetime subscription to the award-winning magazine, The Diary, special alumni discounts, official merchandise and more.
