Few people can say that they have worked for Alpha Kappa Psi for nearly two decades and helped thousands of members, but Debby Orff certainly can. Debby has been a hard-working, driven and enthusiastic member of the Alpha Kappa Psi staff for 17 years, but has decided it’s her time to retire.
When asked what she will miss the most, she didn’t hesitate; “the students”. She continued on by saying, “Speaking with them and helping the chapters has kept me happy and young”. Friends, co-workers, and members will be celebrating Orff’s career and dedication to Alpha Kappa Psi in the coming weeks with a luncheon.
“Debby has been a valuable member of the AKPsi staff/family since January 5, 2000,” said Brian Parker, Managing Director of Operations. “She has worked with thousands of students as well as alumni over the years, always counseling them in a positive manner and helping them effectively process memberships and other administrative functions at the chapter level. She has been my “right hand” too many times to count. While it won’t be the same without her, I certainly wish her all the best and an enjoyable and relaxing retirement. She has absolutely earned it.”
Orff plans to use her new found free time to sleep until 10 am every day, play with her granddaughters and have all the time she wants for her many hobbies. “It has been an amazing 17 years,” said Orff, “I love the people I worked with and appreciate all of the good times. Thank you all!!”
