The Zeta Pi Chapter Hosts the Real World Series

HAYS, KS (May 11, 2016) — In early May, the Zeta Pi Chapter at Fort Hays State University hosted their third installment of the Real World series, Real World 103.

The program is designed give current students the opportunity to speak with recent FHSU graduates and ease their transition into the real world. Students of all disciplines were invited to come attend the program, ask questions, and participate in the discussion. The idea for the series began when members of the Hays Area Young Professionals proposed a discussion with current students about the potential issues they could face upon entering the real world. 

Omega Theta Hosts Case Competition

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (May 6, 2016) — In early April, members of the Omega Theta Chapter at the University of Maryland provided an opportunity for local high school students to participate in a case competition and use real business concepts.

“Prior to being given the case, students were divided into five groups for a quick learning session taught by Omega Theta members: accounting, finance, marketing, supply chain, and operations,” said Jiening Wu, Omega Theta member and the project’s lead.

Fraternity

INDIANAPOLIS (April 28, 2016) — The spring Fraternity Advisor Conference (FAC) was held in Indianapolis, Indiana from April 8 – 10. Volunteers received an opportunity to share ideas, explore issues and current challenges, and discuss strategies to better relate to college students.

The FAC focuses on the concepts, skills, and values which advisors need to be effective in their roles as chapter and fraternity leaders. The conference is for volunteers who want to go further than the basics of advising and want to gain education on the “bigger picture” of working with successful chapters, maintaining a healthy Chapter Advisory Board, and be the best resource to the fraternity and the chapter.

Max Demby Awarded Vice Presidential Coin of Courage

BOULDER (April 25, 2016) — Last spring, Max Demby, Colorado ’11, a member of the Gamma Zeta Chapter at the University of Colorado – Boulder, intervened when he heard screams and saw a man pinning a woman against a wall.

Demby’s actions became a major part of Vice President Biden’s speech earlier this month at the University of Colorado, advocating for the end of sexual assault as a part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the It’s On Us campaign.
