INDIANAPOLIS (January 22, 2016) — At each PBLI location, attendees will be given an opportunity to learn from career accelerating concepts outlined in “I Inc. Career Planning and Personal Entrepreneurship” written by Mike Callahan.
At PBLI, there will be an opportunity to learn from both overarching topics discussed in “I Inc.”, as well as a deeper look into the concepts. Four separate programs will be provided where individuals will build career guides and learn how to effectively compete in the professional environment. Speakers will be discussing various aspects of the book throughout PBLI and how to apply the methods to everyday situations.
Callahan believes that through the lessons in his book, “Instead of students simply putting their résumé out there and hoping someone will give them a job, we want the students to truly become entrepreneurs of their own careers and learn to market themselves effectively in today’s competitive job market. We want to help them develop more of an entrepreneurial mindset and learn about their personal values and aspirations at a deeper level. We want them learn how to develop their personal brand, how to find undeserved opportunities and ultimately create a compelling personal value proposition. And then we want to help them tell their personal story to potential employers via oral, written and social media techniques.”
Anyone interested in the program, or who want to learn more, will be given the chance to receive a copy of Callahan’s book. This special edition book is branded with Alpha Kappa Psi and provided by the fraternity. Regardless if you are a lucky recipient of a free copy, all AKPsi members are automatically invited to participate in a seven (7) week online course to discuss and ask questions of the author, coaches, mentors, and more.
