Fraternity Hires New Chapter Educational Resource Coordinators

INDIANAPOLIS — Alpha Kappa Psi recently hired two chapter educational resource coordinators to the Heritage Center’s staff, Evie Eddins, Florida State ’13 and Kortney D. Petry, Ball State ‘11.

Evie Eddins, as a recent graduate with Bachelor of Arts in History, will serve as the new Area I resource coordinator. Eddins recognizes the significance of paying it forward beyond the collegiate experience, “It is a common discussion amongst my chapter how we will give back to AKPsi once we are alumni. The thing I am most excited about is that I will be able to give back in a more direct manner since I will be working for the Heritage Center. I am looking forward to giving back to the fraternity that has given me so much.”

Kortney Petry is a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Sports Studies minor. “I am eager to start working with Alpha Kappa Psi to assist chapters in bettering themselves so that the members get the best experiences possible,” said Petry expressing her readiness to serve the fraternity as the new resource coordinator for Area III. “I am also excited to meet and get to know all types of people involved in the organization ranging from our student members, to our volunteers, to members of the Board of Directors.”

The role of the resource coordinator includes matching resources to fit the needs of collegiate chapters. These individuals serve as a chapter liaison to provide support to chapter development and operations and collaborate with regional volunteers as an additional layer of support.

The chapter educational resource coordinators are a part of the Student Services department. Eddins and Petry will work closely with Cady E. Tabeling, Southern Indiana ’11 – Life and Liz Vickers, Stetson ‘11 who currently serve as the resource coordinators for Areas II and IV respectively.
