Fraternity Advisor Conference Provides Invaluable Experiences
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA (September 23, 2015) — The fall Fraternity Advisor Conference (FAC) was held in Irvine, California from September 11 – 13, and provided an opportunity for active fraternity advisors to share ideas, explore issues and current challenges, and gain strategies to better relate to college students.
The FAC focuses on the concepts, skills, and values which advisors need to be effective in their roles as chapter and fraternity leaders. The conference is for volunteers who want to go further than the basics of advising and want to gain education on the “bigger picture” of working with successful chapters, maintaining a healthy Chapter Advisory Board, and be the best resource to the fraternity and the chapter.
Gamma Nu Colonizes at Babson College
BABSON PARK, MASSACHUSETTS (September 21, 2015) — Alpha Kappa Psi, the largest international professional business fraternity, recently established a colony at Babson College.
The colonization marks revitalization efforts of the Gamma Nu Chapter which originally lasted 44 years after chartering in 1953. During the colonization period, the students will host various professional, service-related, fundraising and social events.
Fraternity Observes National Hazing Prevention Week
INDIANAPOLIS (September 17, 2015) — Alpha Kappa Psi recognizes the importance of bringing hazing awareness to its members.
HazingPrevention.Org organizes National Hazing Prevention Week (NHPW) during the last full week of September, which will be September 21-25 this year. NHPW raises awareness about the culture of hazing not only with college campuses, but with organizations, communities and individuals. The purpose of this week is to generate awareness so that hazing prevention can occur on a daily basis; not just during one week.
Alpha Kappa Psi Intern Joins Heritage Center Staff
INDIANAPOLIS (September 16, 2015) — Alpha Kappa Psi recently hired Sean Kilgore as communication coordinator who will join the fraternity’s professional staff.
Kilgore, who began with Alpha Kappa Psi as a summer communication intern, is a recent graduate of Butler University with a Bachelor of Science in Arts Administration and a Strategic Communication minor.
