The Website App offered through ChapterSpot gives chapters access to a professional, customizable and easily accessible public website. As one of the many (free) features included for student and alumni chapters, this is a great tool to showcase the chapter.
A benefit of using the Website App is not having to worry about losing login information during officer transitions. Often, a webmaster or website admin graduates without sharing the information. This leads to the creation of another website, with the same process continuing time and time again. Unlike other website platforms, the login is not from a password, but rather a person’s status in ChapterSpot. Access will be automatically given to update the website when assigned the “Administrator” role.
When first activating a chapter’s website, there will be some basic information and pages already in place; Home, Join, Alumni, Calendar, and Contact Us. The join page can be an especially useful tool for recruitment. When a person provides their contact information, they will be automatically added as a prospective member in the chapter’s recruitment tab on ChapterSpot. Additionally, if the chapter connects (and uses) their ChapterSpot calendar, it will populate the different events on the website.
Supplemental pages can be created by the chapter at any time, such as the Omega Delta Chapter created a partners page where they name their chapter’s corporate sponsors, the Delta Upsilon Chapter created multiple pages for their “Idaho Business Leader of the Year” award, and the Psi Chapter created a news page for their semester newsletter. If a chapter wants to add their own images to personalize pages, headers, etc., all images must be sent to the Heritage Center’s communication department for approval.
No matter the size of the website or a member’s experience with website design, all chapters can easily create a personalized website through ChapterSpot’s Website App.
