INDIANAPOLIS (November 18, 2016) – The fraternity’s popular Principled Business Leadership Institute (PBLI) will take on a new look in 2017. Conducted in four different cities (Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, and San Francisco Bay), the enhanced event will offer better opportunities for professional advancement.
The focus of PBLI is to create an enriching learning environment that focuses on the advanced skills and processes needed by the workforce and future leaders. Along with this year’s elevated curriculum, PBLI is now comprised of three unique programs: Leadership Pathway, Case Competition and Officer Training.
The Leadership Pathway offers educational sessions where attendees learn about the industry-related skills necessary to be successful in the workplace. The updated curriculum includes breakout flow sessions where attendees can receive entrepreneurial feedback and network with recruiters, career professionals and human resources representatives.
Officer Training is an educational leadership experience for student chapter officers. It provides an overview of servant leadership and the necessary tools to create and sustain a chapter success plan. Additional education is rooted in general leadership skills, understanding the fraternity’s structure, risk management and individual officer role-based breakouts.
Case Competition is designed to offer participants an opportunity to identify a social issue, create a business plan, consult with an expert in the field, and impact the community. Using the United Nations Transforming our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to identify and address a social issue, teams will deliver a startup business plan. Winning teams will receive a monetary award for use toward advancing their business plan.
